Powering the watch is Omega's top-tier caliber 565 movement used in Seamasters from the era, and one of the last superior 500's series movements used before Omega began trying to reduce their costs, and the top tier offering of the 500 series. It has 24 jewels and a quick-setting date and is one of the finest mass-produced automatic movements from the era.
It is full size for the era - 34.5mm, which is in between the size of the Rolex Date and the Rolex Datejust.
It is 100% Omega down to the original dial, hands, and winding crown, and even its signed Omega crystal!
But what is most striking about the watch is its beautiful original condition.
The case finish presents as mint with only fairly light signs of having been polished. The dial, which is original and untouched, is mint with just the slightest bit of warming giving it a truer vintage look.
1950's and 60's Seamasters are great buys as parts are readily available for their well-made movements, and they're not hard to service.
It has just been fully overhauled by a Master Watchmaker. It winds very smoothly. We have timed it in five chronometer testing positions, and it is running very true.
