In 2018, Fender's Parallel Universe Collection merged the designs of their most notable guitar and bass models to whole create new instruments that shook things up a bit. There was the Strat-Tele Hybrid, the Whiteguard Strat and the '51 Telecaster PJ Bass, just to name a few. Following on from that concept, Fender now brings you the Alternate Reality Series.
Launched at NAMM 2019, this is a limited-edition run of models where multiple Fender design elements are mixed and matched within a single instrument. Classic Fender tone is matched with stunning classic visuals in the Sixty-Six, which makes a radical statement with its down-sized, offset-waist Jazz Bass inspired ash body. A H-S-S pickup configuration, with a Player Series humbucker in the bridge position, complemented by a pair of twangy Player Series Tele single-coils in the middle and neck positions, gives it all the tonal versatility you could want, while a vintage-style 6-saddle synchronized tremolo bridge adds to the expressive capabilities. This guitar is sure to turn heads and ears.
